The Mazda Museum and factory tour is another one of Japan’s great attractions that is not only entertaining but free to visit.
The museum generally consists of a guided factory tour where you get to see cars being assembled on a production line followed by a visit to Mazda’s extensive museum that showcases some of the new and old products.
Mazda’s factory is a huge complex and is one of the largest single site car plants in the world, many of the workers even live on site and the sites location next to Hiroshima’s bay means as soon as cars leave the factory they can be loaded onto ships to head all over the world.
Take the Sanyo or Kure rail line east from Hiroshima station to Mukainada station and walk 5 minutes to Mazda’s head office, only a limited number of tours are run each day in English so booking ahead is essential.
